Become a Sperm Donor

Donating your sperm is a great way to give back to the community because there are many intended parents who need sperm to create a family. Sperm donations can help single parents, LGBT couples, and couples with infertility issues move forward with the surrogacy process. Sometimes, a sperm donation allows parents to have a child that shares their partial DNA.

You can donate sperm anonymously or as a known donor but, regardless of how you donate, you must go through a screening process to ensure your sperm is viable. At Baby Steps Surrogacy Center, Inc., we can walk you through the steps required for sperm donation. We will guide you throughout the process so you feel comfortable moving forward as an informed donor.

How Potential Donors Are Screened in Pittsburgh

There are many requirements for sperm donors in Pittsburgh, and screenings are performed to ensure each donor qualifies before donating. Each sperm donor must be at least eighteen years old and less than thirty-nine years old. A potential donor must go through both physical and psychological exams to make sure they are healthy and have no sexually transmitted infections.

Potential sperm donors will also have their sperm tested for quantity and quality. Their genetic and medical history will be assessed before they are deemed eligible for donation.

Compensation for Sperm Donation

You must meet the donor requirements before providing a sperm sample to the lab for testing. As long as your sample qualifies after testing, you will be eligible for donation and can be compensated for each donation you provide. Depending on how many times you contribute donations, you can make around $70 per donation or up to $1,500 per month.
