Become an Egg Donor
Becoming an egg donor is a great way to give the gift of life to a family in need, but it also requires a significant physical and emotional commitment. There are many benefits to donating your eggs. However, it is important to know the details of the donation process before making an educated decision on whether you want to move forward with a donation.
At Baby Steps Surrogacy Center, Inc., we are happy to provide potential egg donors with all the information they need. We can help you determine whether egg donation is the best option for you and, if you decide that it is, we will assist you with your application so you can begin helping a family create the life they have always hoped for.
Egg Donation Process
The egg donation process requires many steps. First, you will apply to be a donor and provide some initial information about yourself. If the initial information proves adequate, we will contact you for a phone interview and a more in-depth screening. Your medical history and lifestyle will be thoroughly assessed to determine eligibility.
Once you’re deemed eligible for donation, you will sign documents agreeing to work with us and the intended parents. Then, you can move forward with the matching process.
We will share your information with our intended parents. If one of our intended parents chooses you as their egg donor, we will perform more extensive genetic and medical testing to ensure your eggs are viable.
If all goes well, you will sign a contract with the intended parents and then self-administer injections to synchronize your menstrual cycle with the recipient’s menstrual cycle. Once your cycle is in sync with the recipient, you will administer injections that stimulate your ovaries to produce more eggs. Your eggs will then be retrieved and transferred to the recipient’s uterus.
Compensation for Egg Donors
The intended parents will cover the costs of your egg donation. You may also receive additional compensation for your time and effort. Each egg donation agreements vary, and compensation should never be the sole reason you pursue this procedure. Speak to our agency for help deciding whether egg donation is right for you.
